A Work and Play Weekend

Weekends start on Friday for me because I have no Friday classes, however I did have work Friday and Saturday.

I work at Re-Threads Boutique in Setauket, New York - a consignment store.  Consignment is a resale store in which consigners bring in clothing and accessories they would like to sell, and they earn 50% of the profit.  Re-Threads has been closed this month for renovation and we will be re-opening on February 29th, next Wednesday!  I am quite excited because I love my job!  I have a great boss, Nancy, and we get so many interesting items from consigners; it's never a dull moment at work!  We've been taking in new consignment, and we've had some interesting things come in already.  Currently, we are stocking up for a gown/evening wear promotional sale for prom and wedding season.

Besides work, I spent the past two evenings with Amanda, Alyssa, and Sophia.  Friday we had dinner at school, and then went to Selden Thrift, where I bought Italian leather shoes to wear with my vintage dresses!  Sophia picked up a pair of shoes as well.

After work and studying, Saturday night I picked up the girls once again, and we hung out at my house.  Alyssa has been dying to make and eat homemade peanut butter cups, so we enjoyed both the creation and consumptions of this dessert!  It's been a really fun weekend so far.  These girls are great friends and so fun to be with. :)

Tomorrow I will be studying a lot more, however, I will be taking a break to do a sewing project that I've been eager to accomplish for a while now!  I am shortening a late 60s/ early 70s gown I bought at Re-Threads last year.  I will be sharing this project as a blog post quite soon!

   Goodnight!
